Kaizer Chiefs’ next game is Kaizer Chiefs v Stellenbosch in the Betway Premiership on Tuesday 13 October 2026, kick-off 19:30 South African time, at FNB Stadium. Four days later Chiefs open their CAF Confederation Cup campaign away to Red Arrows in Ndola, Zambia, host the return leg in Durban on 23 October, and on Saturday 31 October travel to Orlando Pirates for the Soweto Derby. Our published pick for the Stellenbosch game is Chiefs to win at 52 percent, a close-band call, and the reason it is that low is the draw: Chiefs have drawn four of their seven league games.

Three things on this table we will not smooth over
The Red Arrows tie is now fixed. When this page was first written, the return leg had only a reported window of 23 to 25 October and no kick-off times. The club has now confirmed both legs: Saturday 17 October at 15:00 in Ndola, where Zambia is on the same time as South Africa, and Friday 23 October at 18:00 at Moses Mabhida. We have not yet published a pick on either leg.
The 13 October date is a move. This game was originally scheduled for 17 October and was brought forward because of the Confederation Cup trip, which is why Chiefs now play on a Tuesday night and fly to Zambia four days later.
The 4 November game is postponed. Yesterday we kept it on this page with a doubt stated, because the club’s match centre still listed it. The official fixture list now shows the whole 4 November round as postponed, and KickOff reports that the PSL has postponed every match set for that day. The date may now be used for Carling KnockOut Cup games. Our 44 percent pick stands and will be graded whenever the league game is played.
The original number on this page: four games in 19 days
The draw problem gets the headlines, but the schedule is the thing that changes next. Chiefs played their first seven league games over 50 days, from 1 August to 20 September, with an average of 8.3 days between games. From 13 to 31 October they play four games in 19 days, with an average of 6.0 days between them, and one of those gaps includes a flight to Zambia and back.
| Stretch | Games | Span | Days between games | Average gap |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Aug to 20 Sep, played | 7 | 50 days | 11, 3, 11, 11, 6, 8 | 8.3 days |
| 13 Oct to 31 Oct, confirmed | 4 | 19 days | 4, 6, 8 | 6.0 days |
If Chiefs are also drawn into a midweek Carling KnockOut first-round tie before the derby, as KickOff suggests is possible, the gaps get tighter still. We have not put a number on what that does to a result, because seven games is far too few to measure fatigue, and a figure made up to fill this space would be worse than none.
Where Chiefs stand before Stellenbosch
From the verified Betway Premiership table, rechecked on 6 October 2026 and unchanged since 20 September. Chiefs are the only unbeaten side outside the top two, and they are fourth rather than second because four draws, each two points short of a win, have cost them eight points.
| Club | Pos | P | W-D-L | Goals | Pts | Split that matters here |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kaizer Chiefs | 4th | 7 | 3-4-0 | 12-7 | 13 | Home: 2 wins, 1 draw, scored 6, conceded 3 |
| Stellenbosch | 7th | 7 | 2-3-2 | 8-7 | 9 | Away: 1 win, 2 draws, 1 loss, scored 4, conceded 4 |
All seven Chiefs league results: 3-1 away at Kruger United on 1 August, 2-0 at home to Sekhukhune United on 12 August, 1-1 at home to Mamelodi Sundowns on 15 August, 2-2 away at Richards Bay on 26 August, 3-2 at home to Siwelele on 6 September, 1-1 away at Polokwane City on 12 September and 0-0 away at Golden Arrows on 20 September. The full list with every other score in the league is on our PSL results page, and the Chiefs-only version is on Kaizer Chiefs results 2026-27. Between them Chiefs and Stellenbosch have drawn seven of their fourteen league games. Across the whole division the draw rate is 40 percent, the most common single result of the season. That is the whole case for a 52 percent pick rather than something bolder, and the full Kaizer Chiefs v Stellenbosch preview sets it out in more detail.
