Some outlets have reported the derby at FNB Stadium, but the official list shows Orlando Stadium. Kick-off times this far out can still move for broadcast, so treat 15:30 as scheduled rather than final.

Our prediction for Orlando Pirates against Kaizer Chiefs

We are on Orlando Pirates at 58 percent. That figure is deliberately modest for a home side that has not lost a league match all season, and the reason is the opponent rather than the hosts.

Pirates have the better team and the better season so far: six wins and one draw from seven, just one goal conceded in seven league games, and a points-per-game rate that projects higher than the champions. On pure quality this is a 70 percent fixture.

What pulls it down to 58 is that Kaizer Chiefs have drawn four of their seven league matches. They are not a team that loses at the moment; they are a team that refuses to resolve. Team news that could shape the derby

Chiefs captain and goalkeeper Brandon Petersen injured a knee ligament in training on 15 September, and the club’s estimate of four to six weeks puts his return between 13 and 27 October. If that holds, he should be available for the derby. Forward Wandile Duba, Chiefs’ top league scorer with 3, is reported back in full training after a hip and groin injury. Both results confirmed against more than one independent report. We do not publish an all-time head-to-head total, because the published totals do not agree: one widely cited reference gives 107 meetings, while SuperSport in April 2026 gave 109 league meetings and 184 encounters across all competitions. When two sources cannot agree on a number, we leave it off the page. SuperSport did report in April 2026 that the February win was a fourth consecutive league derby win for Pirates, their best such run of the PSL era; the April draw ended it.
