Where our Betway Premiership picks actually stand
Thirteen graded Betway Premiership picks, six right and seven wrong. That is a losing column and we are not going to dress it up. The reason it sits well below our 59 percent overall figure is the same reason it sits below our Champions League figure of 16 wins and 4 losses: this league draws. Four of Kaizer Chiefs’ seven games have ended level, and a draw counts as a loss in our record because a pick that names a winner and gets a draw has lost.

What we will say is that our high confidence band has held up at 86 percent across all leagues, so when a PSL pick on these hubs is labelled strong, that label has a track record behind it.
How to read the picks on these hubs. Every pick carries a confidence percentage. Strong means 70 percent and up, good means 55 to 69, and close call means under 55. A close call is us telling you the match is close to a coin toss, not us recommending a bet. We do not publish a pick for a match kicking off within the hour, and we do not quietly delete the ones that lose.
What changes when league football returns
The international break runs to early October, so the next Betway Premiership fixture is Richards Bay against Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday 13 October. Kaizer Chiefs restart at home to Stellenbosch on Saturday 17 October and Orlando Pirates host TS Galaxy on Sunday 18 October. Everything then builds to 31 October at Orlando Stadium.
Two things are worth watching when it resumes. Orlando Pirates have drawn only one of their seven league games, against a league-wide draw rate of 40 percent, and they kept a clean sheet in each of the three most recent matches we verified. That is the reason their fixtures carry our higher confidence figures. Kaizer Chiefs are unbeaten but have won only three of seven, and a team that draws four games in seven is exactly the profile that has cost us picks in this league. Those two facts pull in opposite directions in the derby, and we have landed on Pirates at 58 percent rather than anything stronger.
