Why two of those three are close calls
Chiefs at home to Stellenbosch should look comfortable on the log, and it nearly is: fourth against seventh, 13 points against 9. What stops us going higher than 52 percent is the shape of the Chiefs season. Three wins in seven is not the return of a side that puts games away, and Stellenbosch have drawn three of their seven. Two draw-prone teams meeting is the worst possible setup for a pick that has to name a winner.

AmaZulu are third on 16 points with 5 wins from 7, which is a better return than Chiefs have managed, and we still lean marginally to the home side on venue alone.
