BOOKMAKER REVIEWLicence and terms checked 17 October 2026Site reviewed: gbets.co.za

Gbets is a South African online bookmaker with sports betting, live betting, Lucky Numbers, live dealer games, slots and virtual sports. It is run by Dymanex (Pty) Ltd, which the JSE-listed Goldrush group describes as one of its brands, and Dymanex is on the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board’s list of licensed bookmakers. The main strength is a wide local product with withdrawals from R50, paid within 24 hours of approval. The main weakness is inconsistency: the site gives two different Western Cape licence numbers, three different totals for its welcome bonus and four different support phone numbers. Gbets is licensed in South Africa and accepts South African players aged 18 and over.

Licence and safety

The Gbets terms name Dymanex (Proprietary) Limited, trading as Gbets Online, registration number 2012/121966/07. Goldrush, a group listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, names Gbets.co.za as one of its two online brands in its 2025 interim report, which showed online gross gaming revenue up 23 percent to R142 million.

We found Dymanex (Pty) Ltd on the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board’s licence holders page under licensed bookmakers. The board does not publish licence numbers there, and Gbets’s own pages disagree on the number: the footer gives 10179096-014, issued 25 November 2025, while the terms give 10195528-001 and an issue date of 1 December 2025. The footer also states a Mpumalanga licence, 9-2-1-09553, which we could not check because the Mpumalanga regulator’s site blocked our request. We found no fines or sanctions against Gbets or Dymanex for 2024 to 2026.

Sports and markets

The sportsbook covers football (including the Premier League, La Liga and the Betway Premiership), rugby, cricket, golf, tennis and basketball, with a separate live sports section. Beyond sport, Gbets offers Lucky Numbers on UK49s and international lotto draws, live dealer blackjack, roulette, poker, baccarat and sic bo, a slots hub, Aviator and virtual sports with a new event every six minutes. We did not find real horse racing betting in the menu. Payouts are capped at R2 million for sport, table games, slots and crash games, and R5 million for Lucky Numbers.

Welcome offer and the real terms

The promotions page headline is \”Get 50 Free Spins and a R50 Free Bet\”, given after you sign up and verify your account. The spins are on Gates of Olympus. That page also offers a 100% first deposit match up to R5,000 for slots, and the published conditions on it are:

  • All bonus amounts carry up to 30x wagering
  • Spins must be used within 5 days, and bonuses are valid for 5 days after issue
  • Maximum winnings from a bonus are limited to the bonus amount issued
  • A R25 deposit is needed before any winnings can be withdrawn
  • No minimum odds stated on that page

A separate Welcome Journey terms page, for customers registered from 15 May 2025, describes a bigger package across four deposits: a free bet at minimum odds of 1.50 with 1x turnover, a sports match with 4x wagering up to R5,000 with a payout cap of 5 times the deposit and at most R25,000, and casino matches at 30x on the first deposit and 25x on the next three. It excludes system bets, Lucky Numbers, live games, Cash Out and Edit My Bet. It gives bonus expiry as both 5 and 10 days, and caps welcome bonus winnings at R1,000 in one clause and multi-deposit match winnings at R10,000 in another.

R1,000 slots match at 30x = R30,000 of slot play in 5 days

Here is what that means in practice. If you take a R1,000 slots match at 30x, you must spin R30,000 within the bonus period, about R6,000 a day over 5 days. On a slot with a 96 percent RTP, the expected cost of that play is about R1,200, more than the bonus, and your winnings may then be capped at the bonus amount. The sports match at 4x is far easier to clear. The site also gives the total value of the package three ways: R8,000, R16,000 and R21,000. Because the terms contradict each other, ask support which version applies to your account, in writing, before you deposit.

Payments and withdrawals

Deposits can be made with 1Voucher, Celbux, Ozow, Mastercard, Visa, Samsung Pay, Apple Pay or an OTT Voucher. Cash and cheque deposits are not accepted, and deposits of R10,000 or more need proof they came from your own account.

The terms describe withdrawals by EFT to a bank account in your own name, with a minimum of R50, paid within 24 hours of the amount being confirmed as available, not counting bank processing time. The banking page says you can cash out the same way you deposited, which conflicts with the EFT-only wording in the terms. No withdrawal fee is published, and no maximum withdrawal is stated beyond the payout caps.

Mobile

The site shows an Android download badge, but we found no working app download link on any Gbets page and no App Store or Google Play listing. The site works in a mobile browser. Our betting apps guide explains how to check any betting app before you install it.

Support

The contact page lists live chat and phone on 010 634 3855, both stated as available 24 hours a day, plus email at [email protected]. Other pages give different phone numbers: 021 023 3634 in the contact page description and 077 098 4222 in the terms, and the footer shows a number the terms identify as the Western Cape board’s own. Use the contact page number.

Responsible gambling tools

Gbets offers a time-out from one day to a period you choose, set in your profile, and self-exclusion through a portal or by email. Lifting self-exclusion is considered only after six months and after counselling with a National Responsible Gambling Programme professional. The responsible gaming page mentions setting a deposit limit but gives no steps. It lists the programme’s helpline on 0800 006 008 and its WhatsApp line 076 675 0710.

South Africa

Gbets is run by a Western Cape licensed bookmaker, so it is a legal option for adults in South Africa. One wider issue applies to every local bookmaker with casino-style games: in October 2025 the Supreme Court of Appeal ruled that Gauteng-licensed bookmakers may not offer fixed-odds bets on roulette and other casino games without a casino licence, and the National Gambling Board said the ruling applies to all bookmakers, a reading some lawyers dispute. Sports betting is not affected. Compare other options on our list of licensed South African betting sites.

How we reviewed Gbets

On 17 October 2026 we read the Gbets homepage and footer, its terms and conditions, the welcome offer, Welcome Journey and free bet terms, the time-out and self-exclusion terms, and the banking, contact, sports, Lucky Numbers, live games, slots and virtuals pages. We checked the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board’s licence holders page and Goldrush’s 2025 interim report. The Mpumalanga regulator’s site and the Gbets app page did not load. We did not open an account, deposit or bet. Sources: Gbets terms, Welcome Journey terms and the WCGRB licence holders list.
