This policy explains what personal information Sport Predictions collects, why, who it is shared with and what you can do about it. It is written to meet the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Effective 3 September 2026.

JSOP General Trading (PTY) Ltd operates sport-predictions.com and is the responsible party for the personal information described here. Any reference to we, us or the site means that company.
What we collect

We do not ask for and do not want your identity number, banking details, bookmaker account credentials or payment information. We never handle your money and we never place a bet on your behalf. If any page or email appears to ask you for these, it is not from us.
How country detection works
Because we advertise gambling products, we are obliged to make sure a South African visitor is never shown an operator that is not licensed by a South African provincial gambling board, and never shown online casino offers, which are not lawful in South Africa. To do this we read the country code that Cloudflare, our content delivery provider, attaches to your request. If that code is unavailable, we make a single lookup of your IP address against the geolocation service ipapi.co and store the resulting two-letter country code for 24 hours against a one-way hash of your IP address, so that repeat visits do not trigger further lookups. The stored value is the country code only. We do not build a profile from it, and it expires automatically.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and local storage for three purposes: making the site function, measuring traffic through analytics tools, and allowing bookmakers to attribute an account opening to us when you follow a commercial link. That last category is set by the bookmaker, not by us, once you leave this site.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them will not stop you reading anything here.
Who your information goes to
- Our hosting and content delivery providers, who process requests in order to serve the site.
- Analytics providers, in aggregate form.
- ipapi.co, which receives an IP address only when the Cloudflare country signal is unavailable, solely to return a country code.
- Bookmakers, when you choose to click a commercial link and leave this site. From that point their own privacy policy governs, not ours. We do not pass them your name, email address or any personal information.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks for profiling.
Transfers outside South Africa
Some of these providers process data outside South Africa. Section 72 of POPIA permits this where the recipient is subject to laws or binding agreements providing an adequate level of protection, and we rely on the contractual terms of those providers. If you would like to know where a specific provider processes data, ask us.
How long we keep things
Country codes derived from IP addresses expire after 24 hours. Commercial link click counts, which contain no identifier, are kept for 90 days. Analytics data is kept for the retention period of the analytics tool, ordinarily no more than 26 months. Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter and any follow-up. Subscription details are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent where processing rests on consent. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable period and free of charge for a straightforward request.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a matter, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa). Its current contact details are published at inforegulator.org.za. You are entitled to complain to the Regulator whether or not you raise the matter with us first, though we would prefer the chance to fix it.
Children
This site is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
We use encrypted connections, keep the site software current and limit administrative access. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach occurs affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the effective date above and, where the change affects your rights, say so on the site rather than quietly amending the page.
