Betway Premiership Log 2026-27: Full Table, Points Per Game and Our Picks

Positions, results and points cross-checked against the SuperSport Betway Premiership table and the PSL’s own log on 6 October 2026, and unchanged since 20 September. Goals were left off this page when it was first written because our sources disagreed; SuperSport and TNT Sports now agree on them, so they are in. The table passes its arithmetic checks: wins and losses each total 34, the drawn column totals 46, which is 23 matches counted twice, 34 plus 23 gives exactly 57 matches, and goals scored and goals conceded both total 130.

What the goal columns add

Orlando Pirates have conceded one goal in seven league games, and that single number explains a lot of their 2.71 points per game. The league as a whole has produced 130 goals in 57 matches, 2.28 a game. At the bottom, Kruger United’s -9 is the worst goal difference in the league, even though Marumo Gallants sit below them on points. The tie-breaks also now make sense on the page: Golden Arrows sit above Chippa United and Durban City above Polokwane City on goal difference, and Richards Bay above Siwelele on goals scored.

The log flatters the leaders: points per game and a 30-game projection

Two clubs have played eight matches and the other fourteen have played seven, which is enough to move the order at the very top. This is the table we actually use when we set a confidence figure on a Betway Premiership pick.

Points per game is points divided by games played, from the verified log above. The projection multiplies that rate by the 30 league matches each club plays in a 16-team season. It is a statement of current rate, not a forecast of the final table, and a single bad month moves it a long way. Points earned from draws is the drawn column, worth one point each, as a share of the club total.

Two things change when you sort by rate instead of by points. Orlando Pirates move above Mamelodi Sundowns, because Sundowns top the log on the back of a fixture Pirates have not played yet. And Sekhukhune United move above Milford FC, for the same reason one place further down. Neither club has actually overtaken anyone. A log read straight off the points column rewards whoever has had the busier calendar, and in a season with cup and continental football pulling clubs out of league rounds, that is worth remembering before you back a leader.

The bottom three have not won a match

Richards Bay, Siwelele and Marumo Gallants have taken 8 points between them, and every one of those points came from a draw. Three clubs, 21 matches, zero wins. At the other end, Pirates and Sundowns have taken 94.7 percent and 90.0 percent of their points from wins.

In the middle sits the part that costs us money. Golden Arrows and Chippa United are on 8 points each, and five of those eight points came from draws. Across the whole league, 23 of the 57 matches played have finished level, a draw rate of 40.4 percent. A prediction that names a winner loses to a draw, which is the single clearest reason our Betway Premiership column is the worst of any competition we cover.

The restart round, with our picks

Dates and venues match on the SuperSport Betway Premiership fixture list and Soccerway, both checked on 6 October 2026. SuperSport lists times in UTC, so we add two hours for South African time; Kaizer Chiefs’ own 19:30 announcement confirms the conversion. Chiefs v Stellenbosch and Pirates v TS Galaxy were moved forward from 17 and 18 October because of CAF club football. Times can still move for broadcast, so treat them as scheduled rather than final. Four of those eight picks sit under 55 percent, which on a normal weekend would look like a lack of conviction. In this league it is the honest reading. Chippa United against Kruger United at 51 percent pairs a club that has drawn five of seven with a club that has lost five of seven, and the two most likely results are a narrow home win and a draw. Golden Arrows against Milford at 44 percent is us saying the away side is the single likeliest winner while a draw is very much live. When our figure drops below 50, the pick names the most probable winner and is not a statement that a winner is probable.

Our graded record, including the losses

Across every competition we cover, our published record is 109 wins and 77 losses from 186 graded picks, 59 percent. Our Betway Premiership column is the worst of the lot: 6 wins and 7 losses, 46 percent from 13 graded picks, unchanged because no league games have been played since 20 September.

A 46 percent league column is a losing column and it stays on the page. It is also the reason the draw analysis above is not decoration. Across everything we cover, 42 of our 77 losses were draws, and this league draws more than any other we price. The picks are not worse in South Africa; the competition is simply harder to call, and any site quoting you a single sitewide accuracy number without splitting it by league is hiding that from you.
