Every Betway Premiership result of 2026-27 so far

How this list was built and checked: we pulled the season schedule of all sixteen clubs, which puts every match on the list twice, once from each side. All 57 matches agreed on both sides apart from one listing where the two feeds swapped home and away for Milford against Durban City, which the ESPN matchday scoreboard settled as a Milford home game. We then rebuilt the league table from these 57 scores alone and compared it with the published table: played, won, drawn, lost, goals for and goals against match for all sixteen clubs. Goals for and against both total 130.

What 57 results say about this league

This is the dataset the rest of the page is built on, and it is why we treat Betway Premiership picks differently from European ones.

Outcome Matches Share
Draw 23 40.4%
Home win 18 31.6%
Away win 16 28.1%
Total 57 100%
The most likely single result in the Betway Premiership this season is a draw: 23 of 57
Measure Count Share of 57
Goals per match 130 goals 2.28 a game
Goalless draws 9 15.8%
Both teams scored 26 45.6%
Three or more goals 19 33.3%
Most common scorelines 2-0 and 1-1, ten each 17.5% each
Next most common 0-0 and 1-0, nine each 15.8% each

Two-thirds of matches finish with two goals or fewer. The draws are not spread evenly either. Golden Arrows and Chippa United have drawn five of their seven games each, and Kaizer Chiefs, Durban City and Polokwane City four of seven. At the other end Orlando Pirates, AmaZulu and Kruger United have drawn one each. The verified Betway Premiership log shows the same thing from the points side: Golden Arrows and Chippa sit level on eight points from one win each.

Our graded picks on these results, every one of them

This site publishes a pick before kick-off and grades it afterwards in public. We have graded 13 Betway Premiership picks so far, and the column stands at 6 wins and 7 losses, 46 percent, the weakest league on our board. Here is every one, read from the pick log on our homepage this morning.

Result Our pick Confidence Graded
Golden Arrows 1-2 Mamelodi Sundowns Sundowns win 60% WIN
Kaizer Chiefs 3-2 Siwelele Chiefs win 63% WIN
Chippa United 0-0 Milford Chippa win 44% LOSS
Sekhukhune United 0-0 TS Galaxy Sekhukhune win 45% LOSS
Marumo Gallants 2-2 Polokwane City Gallants win 42% LOSS
Richards Bay 1-2 AmaZulu AmaZulu win 40% WIN
Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 Milford Sundowns win 72% WIN
Kruger United 0-4 Orlando Pirates Pirates win 66% WIN
Durban City 0-0 Stellenbosch Stellenbosch win 43% LOSS
Golden Arrows 1-0 Stellenbosch Stellenbosch win 45% LOSS
Polokwane City 0-0 Milford Polokwane win 52% LOSS
Mamelodi Sundowns 5-2 AmaZulu Sundowns win 68% WIN
Richards Bay 2-2 Kaizer Chiefs Chiefs win 57% LOSS
13 picks 6 wins, 7 losses 46%

Two patterns explain that 46 percent, and we would rather state them than hide them.

  • Six of the seven losses were draws. Our rule is that a win pick loses on a draw, with no refunds and no half-points. In a league where 40 percent of matches finish level, that rule costs more here than anywhere else we cover. The only loss that was not a draw was Golden Arrows 1-0 Stellenbosch.
  • Confidence sorted the picks. At 55 percent and above we went 5 from 6, the single loss being the 2-2 at Richards Bay that cost us a Kaizer Chiefs pick. Below 55 percent we went 1 from 7. The low numbers were telling the truth: those were close calls, and close calls in this league mostly end level.
What we are doing about itWe are not changing the grading rule to flatter the column. The fix is in how we read the board: a Betway Premiership pick under 55 percent is a lean, not a tip, and in this league the draw is usually a bigger danger than the other side winning. The overall record across every sport and league is 105 wins and 75 losses, 58 percent over 180 picks, read from the live homepage this morning.

Next up: the eight fixtures that produce the next PSL results

Dates and pairings checked this morning against the ESPN feed and the Betexplorer fixture list, which agree on all eight, with venues from the ESPN feed and the Kaizer Chiefs kick-off and venue confirmed again on the club’s own match centre. Times are South African time. Four of the eight carry a pick under 55 percent, which on the evidence above makes the draw the live risk in all four.
