BOOKMAKER REVIEWLicence and terms checked 15 October 2026Markets: UK and international

888sport is the sportsbook of the 888 group. In Great Britain it is run by 888 UK Limited under UK Gambling Commission licence 039028-R-319297-014, and its footer cites the Malta Gaming Authority and the Government of Gibraltar for other markets. The main strength is a full modern sportsbook: in-play betting, live streaming, Bet Builder, cash out, apps for iOS and Android, and a long list of payment methods with most withdrawals processed within one business day. The main weakness is that the site shows different welcome offers and minimum deposits depending on where you are, so the deal you see may not match what is quoted elsewhere. 888sport does not hold a South African provincial licence and is not licensed to take bets from people in South Africa.

Licence and safety

On the UK Gambling Commission register, 888 UK Limited holds account 39028 with remote licence 039028-R-319297-014. Its activities are bingo, casino and real event betting, active since 1 November 2014, and virtual event betting, active since 16 April 2020. The account carries 90 domains, among them 888sport.com. The 888sport footer also names the Malta Gaming Authority and the Government of Gibraltar Gambling Division as regulators for other customers. We did not open those registers, so we have not printed MGA or Gibraltar numbers.

The Commission’s regulatory action list for 888 UK Limited shows three small penalties. In August 2024, £23,000 for a credit card rule breach. In August 2025, £33,075 for a customer identification breach. In November 2025, £86,843 for a self-exclusion breach the regulator attributed to human error, where login and gambling blocks for self-excluded customers were not affected. In each case the Commission noted the company reported the breach itself and cooperated. These are far smaller than the penalties several rivals in this review series have paid, but they are on the record.

Sports and markets

The homepage lists football, horse racing, rugby, cricket, boxing, darts, tennis, golf, volleyball and greyhounds, plus specials on cultural events. In-play betting and live streaming are both offered. Bet Builder is available, and the promotions page confirms cash out on standard markets and Bet Builders. A weekly Bet Builder promotion refunds a losing Bet Builder at odds of 3.00 or bigger as a free bet.

Odds and returns

888sport does not publish a payout percentage for its sportsbook. To judge a price yourself, convert both sides of a two-way market into implied probabilities: at 1.90 and 1.90, each side implies 52.6 percent, which adds to 105.3 percent. The 5.3 points above 100 is the bookmaker’s margin on that market. Comparing that figure across bookmakers on the same match is the fairest test of value.

Welcome offer and the real terms

888sport shows different welcome offers in different regions. The version shown to us on the promotions page was:

  • Deposit at least 20 and enter the promo code 20RF on the cashier page
  • Place a first bet of at least 20 at odds of 1.8 or bigger
  • If it does not win, receive a free bet of 20, valid for 7 days, with no wagering on its winnings
  • New customers only, offer valid until 31 December 2026
Bet 20 at 1.8: win and collect 36, or lose and get a 20 free bet

In plain numbers: if your 20 bet at 1.8 wins, you get 36 back, a profit of 16, and no free bet. If it loses, you get one free bet of 20. Using that free bet at 1.8 would normally return 16 profit, because free bet stakes are not usually returned. So the offer is worth most to someone who was going to bet anyway. The homepage text separately mentions a 100 percent first deposit match up to 100 euros, which we think is a different regional offer. Read the offer shown in your own account before depositing.

Payments and withdrawals

Deposit options listed include Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Trustly, Luxon Pay and Paysafecard, with PayPal, Sofort, Giropay, MuchBetter, Skrill and Neteller also named in the FAQ. Withdrawals are offered to Visa, PayPal, Apple Pay, Trustly, Luxon Pay and bank transfer, depending on your account, and generally go back to the method you deposited with. 888sport says most withdrawal requests are processed within one business day, and identity checks may be requested first. Accounts run in pounds, euros or US dollars.

The minimum deposit is stated as 10 on the homepage, shown as pounds in one place and euros in another. We did not find a published minimum withdrawal or withdrawal limit.

Mobile

888sport offers betting apps for iOS and Android, and links to a mobile betting page from its homepage. The full site also runs in a mobile browser.

Support

Help is through live chat with the 888 member support team and a help centre. We did not see published chat hours, a phone line or a support email for general queries.

Responsible gambling tools

This is 888sport’s strongest area. Its UK responsible gambling page lists a Control Center with net deposit limits by day, week or month; time spent reminders; Take a Break periods of 1 day, 2 days, 7 days, 14 days, 1 month or 6 weeks; self-exclusion for a minimum of 6 months, which also covers linked accounts in the group; account closure; game history; a self-assessment test; marketing opt-outs; and links to blocking software such as Gamban and BetBlocker, plus GamCare, GambleAware and GAMSTOP.

Who can use 888sport

888sport serves Great Britain under its UKGC licence and other markets under its MGA and Gibraltar licences, with accounts in pounds, euros and dollars. We did not find the restricted country list on the pages we read. Many countries license sports betting locally, and 888sport is not available everywhere, so check that your country is accepted before you register and do not use a VPN to get around a block.

How we reviewed 888sport

On 15 October 2026 we read the 888sport homepage and footer, its promotions page and its UK responsible gambling page, and checked the UK Gambling Commission register for account 39028, including its domain list and regulatory actions. Pages were viewed from outside the UK, which is why the welcome offer we saw is priced in dollars. We did not open an account, deposit or place bets.
