Spreadex is a British betting firm that offers two different products under one roof: ordinary fixed odds betting and sports spread betting, where your profit or loss grows with how right or wrong you are. Its fixed odds book is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission under account 8835, and its footer says spread betting is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. The main strength is clear money rules: a £5 minimum deposit, a £5 minimum withdrawal and card payouts usually within two hours of approval. The main weakness is a £2.02 million Gambling Commission penalty in May 2025 for anti-money laundering and customer care failings. Spreadex does not hold a South African provincial licence and is not licensed to take bets from people in South Africa.

Licence and safety
On the UK Gambling Commission register, Spreadex Limited holds a remote general betting licence for real events, active since 1 January 2009, and for virtual events, active since 22 August 2017. The licence number is 008835-R-104580-022 and its status is active. The site footer repeats account number 8835 for fixed odds betting.
Spread betting is a different legal product in the UK. It is treated as a financial instrument, so it falls under the Financial Conduct Authority rather than the Gambling Commission. The Spreadex footer states that its spread betting is FCA authorised and regulated. We did not check the FCA register during this review, so we have not printed an FCA number.
Sports and markets
The All Sports menu lists 22 categories, including politics and specials as well as the usual football, racing, cricket, tennis and golf. Both fixed odds and spread markets are available, and qualifying bets can be pre-event or in-play. Bet Builder is offered on fixed odds. We did not see a live streaming service on the pages we read.
How a sports spread bet works
Spread betting is the reason most people look at Spreadex, and it carries more risk than a normal bet. Instead of backing a result at odds, you buy or sell a number, such as total goals in a match, and win or lose a set amount per point of difference.
If the match ends with 4 goals, you win (4 minus 2.9) times £10, which is £11. If it ends 0-0, you lose (2.9 minus 0) times £10, which is £29. Your loss can be larger than your stake per point, so set a limit before you start. Spread betting is not suitable for everyone, and it is the product to understand before you deposit, not after.
Welcome offer and the real terms
The offer page headline is £60 in free bets when you bet £10. The terms, as published:
- Qualifying bet: £10 fixed odds single, or each-way where only the win part counts, at odds of 1/2 or bigger
- It must be placed within 28 days of opening the account and must not be cashed out early
- Fixed odds reward: £30, paid as three £10 free bets
- Spread reward: a further £30 in spread free bets, made up of three £5 Total Goals and three £5 Winning Favourites bets, plus a £1 Race Index bet, only if you also open a spread betting account within 28 days and pass eligibility checks
- Free bets expire after 28 days. New customers aged 18+ in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland only
In plain numbers: the minimum qualifying bet of £10 at 1/2 returns £15 if it wins. Whatever happens to it, you then receive £30 in fixed odds free bets. The headline £60 only applies if you also take on a spread betting account, which is a higher risk product, so most readers should value the offer at £30. A second Spreadex page shows a £30 version of the same deal, so check which one is live when you sign up.
Payments and withdrawals
Spreadex publishes unusually detailed banking rules. You can deposit by UK debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Pay by Bank, bank transfer, direct debit or cheque. It does not accept e-wallets such as PayPal or Neteller, or third-party payments.
| Method | Stated withdrawal time |
|---|---|
| Debit card | Within 2 hours of approval for most cards, 2 to 5 days where the card issuer does not support fast payouts |
| Bank transfer | Within 2 working days |
| CHAPS same day | Same day, £25 fee |
| Pay by Bank | Described as the fastest option, no time given |
The minimum withdrawal is £5 of cleared funds, or your whole balance if it is below £5. Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay withdrawals are capped at £25,000 each.
Mobile
Spreadex links to apps for iOS and Android from its sports site, and the full site also works in a mobile browser.
Support
Support is mainly by phone and email: general enquiries on +44 (0)1727 895 000, a sports desk on 08000 526 575, and [email protected] and [email protected]. We did not see live chat or published hours on the help pages we read.
Responsible gambling tools
The site has a Safer Gambling page and a Client Vulnerability page, an 18+ notice, and links to GAMSTOP, GamCare, GambleAware, Gambling Therapy and Take Time to Think. The safer gambling page itself did not load for us, so we cannot list the account tools in the operator’s words. As a UK licensee it must offer deposit limits and self-exclusion. Given the 2025 finding on deposit limit monitoring, set your own limits on day one.
Who can use Spreadex
The welcome terms cover Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland, and Spreadex promotes a euro version of the offer for Irish racing. We did not find a general list of accepted countries. Outside those two markets, assume you cannot open an account.

How we reviewed Spreadex
On 15 October 2026 we read the Spreadex sports homepage and footer, its payment information help page, its help and support page and two welcome offer pages, and checked the UK Gambling Commission register for account 8835 and the Commission’s May 2025 announcement.
